About Rebecca
Rebecca Taylor is a ministry consultant and resource developer who partners with churches and clergy to revitalize congregational life, navigate transitions, and cultivate ministries that are faithful, innovative, and sustainable.
Rebecca is a cradle Episcopalian, a clergy kid (times two!), and a clergy spouse. Having spent her life surrounded by ordained ministry, she has witnessed firsthand the beauty, complexity, and demands of church leadership. From pastoral emergencies and vestry conflicts to stewardship windfalls (and shortfalls); from baptismal joys and late-night sermon rewrites to the scramble for a missing collar button on Sunday morning—she has seen it all and brings that lived experience to her work.
Her passion for congregational health began early. As a teenager, she often accompanied her father—then a Canon to the Ordinary—on Sunday visits to churches around the diocese. Perched in the pews with a bulletin in hand, she made quiet notes about what worked, what didn’t, and what tweaks might help that church thrive. What began as a playful habit became the seed of a lifelong call to robust lay ministry. Over the years, she has served in church plants and diocesan contexts, in high-church and low-church settings, and in everything from fledgling missions to thriving, cardinal parishes. These wide-ranging experiences deepened her conviction that the Church, in all its forms, is worth tending with wisdom, imagination, and hope.
Rebecca has created a variety of digital resources including seasonal resource guides, a Liturgy for the O Antiphons, and a dementia friendly church certification process. She has also developed stewardship programs shaped by theological depth and practical strategy, as well as discipleship series tailored to diverse parish contexts. Having served as Director of Communications for three parishes, she also brings a wealth of experience in helping churches clarify their message, strengthen their visual identity, and communicate effectively.
Rebecca is married to her college sweetheart, the Rev. Dr. Porter C. Taylor, who serves as Rector of Church of the Good Shepherd in Augusta, GA. Together they have three sons (ages 13, 10, and 9) who fill their days with dirt, laughter, and a hefty dose of laundry.
